Welcome to First Baptist Church of Crystal River, Florida

We welcome everyone to our church and fellowship. If you are looking for a loving, caring and Bible preaching church, come and visit us at First Baptist. Our doors are always open. If you have special needs or need someone to pray with you, feel free to call our church office.

The ABC's of Becoming A Christian

  • Admit that you have sinned, that you have broken God’s Law.
  • Believe that Jesus Christ died for every wrong thing you’ve ever done. Believe that He was buried and rose again on the third day.
  • Confess to Jesus that you want Him to forgive you and lead your life.

Are you ready to receive Jesus into your life? Say this prayer, “God, I admit that I have sinned against you. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose again. The best way I know how, I receive Jesus into my life to lead me and save me. Amen.”

Please contact one of our staff so that we may pray with you and help you understand what it means to becoming a Christian.

A Note From Our Pastor

July has become a month of celebration for me and my family. First, it marks my anniversary as Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church of Crystal River. It has been seven years, yet it seems like I just started yesterday. The time has gone by quickly. Many changes have taken place. Yet through all the changes and challenges God has blessed us beyond measure. His grace has been sufficient for all our needs.

Second, July is my wedding anniversary. Cassie and I will be celebrating 19 years of marriage on July 12. Third, both my children have birthdays in July. My two girls were eight years old and six years old when we arrived in July 2009. Now Lizzy is turning 15 and will soon begin her sophomore year at Lecanto High School. Urgent prayer request: Lizzy is thinking about her learner’s permit to get her driver’s license. Vickie is turning 13 and will be an 8th grader at Lecanto Middle School. It’s official: both my daughters are now teenagers. As I live with my family day after day, I barely notice the changes. Yet as I look back and reflect, I see that things have changed quite a lot.

Our church family has also gone through some changes in the last seven years. Staff members have come and gone. New people have come to join our church family. Some members have moved on to new places. Others have gone home to glory. Our facilities have been upgraded at key points. Ministries have expanded. Goals have been reached. Spiritual decisions have been celebrated. Change has been constant in the last seven years. Yet some things have remained the same. You are friendly to everyone and welcome everyone who walks through our doors with open arms. You volunteer and give your time to support ministries that touch hearts and transform lives. You give of your resources to fund ministries that help people find Christ. You invite your friends to come and join this wonderful family and to get involved in what God is doing. You go the extra mile to visit someone in a hospital or to bring a meal to someone in need. You are a wonderful church family. You make our church a wonderful place to call home.

Thank you for providing such wonderful memories over the past seven years. As I reflect on the past, it makes me wonder what God has in store for our present and future. Change equals opportunity. We have the opportunity to make the future an even better place. As we reach for what is ahead, may we continue to do our part to touch hearts and transform lives by sharing the love of Jesus Christ.

Thinking about joining the church family at First Baptist Church of Crystal River? The next New Members Class is Saturday, July 16th from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon. You can sign-up in Victory Hall or by calling the church office. We would love to have you join our family and join our mission of touching hearts and transforming lives!

God Bless,

Pastor Tim
