Welcome to First Baptist Church of Crystal River, Florida

We welcome everyone to our church and fellowship. If you are looking for a loving, caring and Bible preaching church, come and visit us at First Baptist. Our doors are always open. If you have special needs or need someone to pray with you, feel free to call our church office.

The ABC's of Becoming A Christian

  • Admit that you have sinned, that you have broken God’s Law.
  • Believe that Jesus Christ died for every wrong thing you’ve ever done. Believe that He was buried and rose again on the third day.
  • Confess to Jesus that you want Him to forgive you and lead your life.

Are you ready to receive Jesus into your life? Say this prayer, “God, I admit that I have sinned against you. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose again. The best way I know how, I receive Jesus into my life to lead me and save me. Amen.”

Please contact one of our staff so that we may pray with you and help you understand what it means to becoming a Christian.

A Note From Our Pastor

This March I’m continuing the message series called “Seven Sayings from the Cross.” The final sayings from the cross tell us a lot about Jesus and about how Jesus wants us to live. My prayer and hope is that we’ll learn more about Jesus from this series and that we’ll become more like Jesus by applying the things we learn.

The topics for March include the following:

  • March 3 “Here Is Your Son . . . Here Is Your Mother” (John 19:26-27)

  • March 10 “Why Have You Forsaken Me?” (Matthew 27:46)

  • March 17 “I Am Thirsty” (John 19:28)

  • March 24 “It Is Finished” (John 19:30)

The Worship Arts Team and Celebration Choir are planning a fantastic celebration for the whole church on both Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday. The back-to-back presentations will include drama, music, costumes, worship, inspiring messages and participation on the part of all who attend. This new format for both Palm Sunday and Easter will touch people with the reality of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection. You will want to experience these services and invite a friend to join you.

Our collective challenge at First Baptist Church is to invite as many people as we possibly can. We want to mail a colorful and attractive Invite Card to 1000 people in our community. To make this happen, you need every person to give us the name and address of people to invite. We’ll send the Invite Card for you to your friends. Then you follow up with your friends by adding your personal invitation. By working together, our goal is to invite 1000 people to join us on Palm Sunday and Easter.

In the main welcome center, there is a stack of cards and a box. Fill out the cards with the name of people you would like to invite and drop the card into the box. We will collect the cards with names and addresses and mail them an Invite Card at the appropriate time as we get closer to Palm Sunday and Easter. We’ll let you know when the Invite Cards are mailed so you can follow up and personally invite people. With everyone submitting names, we can easi-ly invite 1000 people to join us.

Imagine how it will feel to have your friends in church with you on Palm Sunday and Easter! Imagine what God might do if everyone makes inviting a priority this month! Imagine the lives that will be touched by the message of Jesus Christ! No person cannot do this alone. We need everyone to give us names and addresses so we can have a fantastic celebration on both Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday!

God Bless,

Pastor Tim
