Welcome to First Baptist Church of Crystal River, Florida

We welcome everyone to our church and fellowship. If you are looking for a loving, caring and Bible preaching church, come and visit us at First Baptist. Our doors are always open. If you have special needs or need someone to pray with you, feel free to call our church office.

The ABC's of Becoming A Christian

  • Admit that you have sinned, that you have broken God’s Law.
  • Believe that Jesus Christ died for every wrong thing you’ve ever done. Believe that He was buried and rose again on the third day.
  • Confess to Jesus that you want Him to forgive you and lead your life.

Are you ready to receive Jesus into your life? Say this prayer, “God, I admit that I have sinned against you. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose again. The best way I know how, I receive Jesus into my life to lead me and save me. Amen.”

Please contact one of our staff so that we may pray with you and help you understand what it means to becoming a Christian.

A Note From Our Pastor

July is my anniversary month at First Baptist Church of Crystal River. This marks my ninth year as senior pastor. It has been nine wonderful years. The time has gone by quickly. Many changes have taken place. God has taken some people home to be with Him and God continues to bring new people to join our church family. Through all the changes and challenges over the past nine years, our church continues to be a wonderful place to call home and serve our heavenly Father.

I’m beginning a new message series in July called “Heroes and Villains in the Bible.” We will take a look into the lives of five characters known to be heroes and five characters known to be villains. If you grew up in church, this is an excellent opportunity to revisit some of your favorite characters and stories from the Bible. If you didn’t grow up in church, this is an opportunity to learn some of the key stories from the Bible and why they are loved by so many peo-ple. In both cases, this is an opportunity to learn what made the heroes great and what made the villains not so great. In other words, there are key life lessons from each character that we can apply to our own relationship with God.

We begin the Summer Message Series with five heroes. The dates and characters are as follows:

  • July 8 Moses (Exod. 17:1-7; 33:11)

  • July 22 David (1 Samuel 17)

  • July 29 Joseph (Genesis 50:15-21)

  • August 5 Peter (Acts 2:14-41; John 21:15-23)

  • August 12 Paul (Philippians 1:15-26)

If you’re new to First Baptist Church of Crystal River, I would like to invite you to attend the Pastor’s Lunch. This will take place on Sunday, July 22 at 12:15 p.m. in Victory Hall. The Pastor’ Lunch gives you an opportunity to meet our ministerial staff, hear more about the church and ask any questions you may have about the church. There is also a delicious compli-mentary meal!

Thinking about joining the church family at First Baptist Church of Crystal River? The next New Members Class is Saturday, July 28 from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon. You’re invited to join us in touching hearts and transforming lives!

God Bless,

Pastor Tim
