Welcome to First Baptist Church of Crystal River, Florida

We welcome everyone to our church and fellowship. If you are looking for a loving, caring and Bible preaching church, come and visit us at First Baptist. Our doors are always open. If you have special needs or need someone to pray with you, feel free to call our church office.

The ABC's of Becoming A Christian

  • Admit that you have sinned, that you have broken God’s Law.
  • Believe that Jesus Christ died for every wrong thing you’ve ever done. Believe that He was buried and rose again on the third day.
  • Confess to Jesus that you want Him to forgive you and lead your life.

Are you ready to receive Jesus into your life? Say this prayer, “God, I admit that I have sinned against you. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose again. The best way I know how, I receive Jesus into my life to lead me and save me. Amen.”

Please contact one of our staff so that we may pray with you and help you understand what it means to becoming a Christian.

A Note From Our Pastor

August is a great month to make a new beginning or to start something new. Our students and teachers are starting a new school year. It’s time for a new grade, a new class, and even a new school for some. At First Baptist Church, it’s time to begin the Awana Ministry once again. Awana Open House is August 12th and the first official Awana night is August 19th. Our teenagers (grades 6-12) will have a “Back to School Bash” on August 19th as well. This is a great month to join the Awana and Youth Ministry as a student or to volunteer for these ministries as an adult.

My August message series will focus upon family relationships. The series is entitled “All In The Family.” The goal is to help marriages and families grow in strength and commitment. The mes-sage titles are as follows:

  • August 9 Marriage Secrets August

  • 16 Wedlock to Deadlock August

  • 23 The Money Factor August

  • 30 Grandparents Matter

August is also the month to update and upgrade our usher ministry, greeter ministry, and care ministry. We need as many people as possible to volunteer to serve in these three ministries. The great thing about these ministries is that they happen on Sunday morning when we’re already at church. Make the most of your time at church by investing your life in these three ministries. Let me explain the basic job description for these three ministries.

The ushers hand out bulletins to everyone and collect the offering. The greeters open the doors for people and welcome them to our church. The care ministry volunteers greet our new people in the sanctuary, make every effort to get to know them and bring them a special gift like cookies or brownies on Monday evening. These three min-istries are vital to our continued growth as a church. We need your help to make them work!

Two meetings are scheduled to provide vision and training for these ministries. The ushers and greeters will meet on Sunday, August 23 at 5:00 p.m. The care ministry will meet on Sunday, August 30 at 5:00 p.m. Sign-up for these ministries in Victory Hall and then attend the meeting for your ministry.

Our efforts to reach out and welcome new people will make a significant impact on the future of our church. We have great things planned for September and October and we need these ministries firmly in place to make that happen! Sign-up today!

God Bless,

Pastor Tim
